enjoying the Coventry Farmers Market is a family affairThe Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market is held May 31 through October 25, Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm on the grounds of the Nathan Hale Homestead at 2299 South Street in Coventry, Connecticut.

2015 marks our twelfth and final season. The market draws 150,000 visitors annually and generates sales exceeding $2,000,000. The market is run by a volunteer committee that operates under a registered 501c3 organization. It is considered a “destination market” drawing nearly 50% of its patrons from beyond the local area. It is a “dog Friendly” market: leashed, well-mannered dogs are welcome.

Surrounded by over 500 acres of forest and picturesque rural landscape, the Hale Farm provides a gracious backdrop for this vibrant farmers’ market.

New England Travel Magazine calls ours “Connecticut’s preeminent farmers’ market.” This is the state’s largest and most diverse farmers’ market, featuring an average of 75 farmers, specialty food producers, and artisans each Sunday.

“Equal parts country fair and farmers’ market, The Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market feels like a momentous celebration each and every Sunday, with cooking demonstrations, sustainable living programs, kids activities and musical guests. After traveling to over 50 markets while writing my book, Markets of New England (The Little Bookroom, 2011), I can honestly say that the Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market is easily one of the top five events in the region.” -Christine Chitnis

It’s springtime in Connecticut! The region’s farmers are tilling the soil and starting seeds for the crops that we will enjoy this summer! May 31 is opening day at the Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market. This will be the twelfth and final season of this storied market.

Market-goers often describe our market as “a little country fair every Sunday.” To be sure, each market is a celebration of locally-grown and handmade goods. Each Sunday has a theme as well… for example,  our Seaside Social with Max’s Oyster Bar; Wine & Art Gala, Connecticut Cheese Festival, Heirloom Exposition, Fiber Twist and Farm to Latte event celebrate the growing season and what’s special about Connecticut.

The Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market is Connecticut’s largest and most vibrant agricultural marketplace. Named by the Boston Globe as one of the ‘Top Ten Things to do in New England,’ the market hosts 150,000 visitors annually. Diverse farmer and artisan vendors, extensive community involvement, live entertainment and weekly demonstrations set us apart from other markets.

Our location at the picturesque and historical Nathan Hale Homestead, surrounded by 500 acres of field and forest, is an unspoiled, traditional New England vista, and a setting that makes our market a destination for travelers far and near.”
